Favourite Finds | Laura Ashley

I've been reading in the news and on social media about this struggling brand, I felt quite sad and disappointed that Laura Ashley was in such a state. It is an iconic British household name, with a really rich history and I'm so fed up of seeing this continuous decline of our high street.
I cannot say that I love all of Laura Ashley's home accessories and furnishings, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one to say that. So may be we shouldn't be too surprised by this news? It's not moved with trends in recent years; it's not dialled up it's trademark floral patterns for the maximalist or playful trends we've seen and it's not simplified it's country stripes and tweed down for more simple or rustic interiors.
With all that said, don't write this high street shop off just yet. There are some beautiful, quality pieces to be found, and I've been guilty of overlooking them when searching out a home accessory or item of furniture.
So whilst this blog post will not save Laura Ashley from the depths of despair by any stretch of the imagination, its just my little way to back this British brand and hopefully inspire others to think of them when hunting homewares! Without further-a-do here's my favourite finds...
I bought this and can absolutely vouch for the quality and beauty of it! I've seen similar with far more expensive price tags and this is currently in the sale so it's an absolute bargain. It's also available in an apple shape and would be perfect for a child's bedroom or playroom.
If you're hankering for something bright and beautiful in the current grey and miserable weather, look no further than this wool cushion. It looks so tactile and brings an instant smile to my face!
This is a stylish addition to any home. Add it to your kitchen table, on top of some books on a curated console table or on a bathroom shelf, whatever takes your fancy, there's a place crying out for this bowl.
Why are we overlooking Laura Ashley when it comes to patterned wallpaper? Crazy, they should be owning this corner of the market! There's a number of reasons but let's put that to one side for a moment and marvel at this beautiful floral wallpaper. The colours and pattern are wonderfully rich, I can easily imagine this with deep skirting boards below and reaching up to a picture rail, and its a 'paste the wall' wallpaper making the task that little bit easier.
Modern pattern, striking colour and competitive price. What more is there to say about this throw (says the throw blanket addict).
This is such a statement floor lamp, ready to brighten even the darkest of corners. If it were me, I might change the lampshades to a pleated or drum shade but it's a real stunner.
My desire for a Laura Ashley chair only grows with time, they have a number of beautiful designs with lots of fabric choices which you can scroll through online to find the perfect match. Here I picked out the Dalton Hedgerow green which would look so beautiful with crisp white paintwork, blush accessories... I could go on but I'll stop there, you get the idea!
I adore the pattern on this rug, just a quiet nod to the current trend of curves and a touch of art deco inspiration.
A simple, contemporary print, this artwork made me stop in admiration. Reminds me of pretty Cornish seasides and it comes framed too so no hassle involved!
Much to my husband's absolute dismay, we own (far too) many lamps from Laura Ashley. I really like their glass lamps, often simple and always great quality so when I spotted this wall light I was already sold on it. Antique brass and glass and again a great price.
Footnote - This isn't about trying to encourage unnecessary purchases, its simply highlighting a brand that you may overlook when you are searching for your next home accessory or item of furniture.
